Open Access

Open Access is an initiative –led by the academic and research community– for free, immediate and permanent online access to digital scientific content. With an aim to promote the free exchange of scientific information and the open exploitation of research results for the benefit of society, the National Documentation Centre (EKT) has been in the forefront to support open access movement and the free availability of scientific publications in the country. It was the first Greek organization to sign Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities in 2003, and since then, continues to support all open access Initiatives.
